1_Does the democratic election system conform to the Bible? No. Does the US presidential oath of office have any meaning? No

.[Scripture]

Romans 7:18 ESV

[18] For I know that nothing good dwells in me, that is, in my flesh. For I have the desire to do what is right, but not the ability to carry it out. 1 John 5:14-15 ESV[14] And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us. [15] And if we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked of him.

John 9:31 ESV

[31] We know that God does not listen to sinners, but if anyone is a worshiper of God and does his will, God listens to him.

[End ofScripture]

Explanation: In democratic elections, candidates deliver numerous speeches and make many promises. However, humans cannot prove that these promises represent God’s will. Therefore, they are in a state of “willing to do good, I have it; but carrying it out, I cannot.”Thus, no candidate in human history has ever 100% fulfilled their campaign promises; how much they fulfill is entirely up to God, and the future is not in human control.Similarly, all contracts, agreements, and agreements between people lack true binding force. Their value lies in the fact that if they are agreements enforced by a state or governmental institution, they can serve as grounds for future court proceedings.

2. So, is the US presidential oath of office meaningful? No.

[Scripture]

Matthew 5:33-37 ESV

[33]  “Again you have heard that it was said to those of old, ‘You shall not swear falsely, but shall perform to the Lord what you have sworn.’ [34] But I say to you, Do not take an oath at all, either by heaven, for it is the throne of God, [35] or by the earth, for it is his footstool, or by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the great King. [36] And do not take an oath by your head, for you cannot make one hair white or black. [37] Let what you say be simply ‘Yes’ or ‘No’; anything more than this comes from evil.

James 5:12 ESV

[12] But above all, my brothers, do not swear, either by heaven or by earth or by any other oath, but let your “yes” be yes and your “no” be no, so that you may not fall under condemnation.

Romans 3:20 ESV

[20] For by works of the law no human being will be justified in his sight, since through the law comes knowledge of sin.

[End of Scripture]

Explanation: Similarly, why does God discourage people from swearing oaths? Because if you are stating a fact, say yes if it is, and no if it is not.Anything beyond that comes from the evil one, and this will place you under God’s judgment. If you swear an oath as a promise to the future, you are adding a law to yourself. Humans lack the capacity to enforce the law, which is meant to make people aware of their sins. Therefore, all oaths made between people, and even to oneself, are worthless and only bring one into God’s judgment.Summary: Human resolutions, promises, and oaths that are not according to God’s will are meaningless. Those who understand this will not believe their own or others’ resolutions, promises, or oaths.
